They just don’t understand it… May 12, 2006

Posted by RepublicanWitch in The Unhinged Media.

I was listening to WABC Radio this morning, and was struck by the incredulous tone of the reporter as she talked about the poll results that showed that most people support the surveillance of telephone records:

May 12, 2006 — Americans by nearly a 2-1 ratio call the surveillance of telephone records an acceptable way for the federal government to investigate possible terrorist threats, expressing broad unconcern even if their own calling patterns are scrutinized.

Lending support to the administration's defense of its anti-terrorism intelligence efforts, 63 percent in this ABC News/Washington Post poll say the secret program, disclosed Thursday by USA Today, is justified, while far fewer, 35 percent, call it unjustified.

Why is it so difficult for the media to believe that the majority of Americans support this?  I guess for the same reason they still can't accept the fact that President Bush won the 2000 election, and was re-elected in 2004 – they were wrong, and they don't like it.

After the letter that Ahm-a-dipwad sent, which is a declaration of war, I'm not surprised that the majority of Americans can see a threat that the media is too blind to see.
